Enhance Services for the Entire Campus Community with Secure Release Here™
Secure Release Here is a powerful feature of Uniprint that enables a new, two-step printing process. Users submit print jobs from their computers in the usual way. At the printer, they use the Pharos interface to select the jobs they want to print and “release” them. Secure Release Here provides unprecedented convenience, waste reduction, security, and confidentiality.
- Waste reduction – With Secure Release Here, users print only the documents they really need, rather than every job they submitted from their computer. (They can use the Pharos interface to delete unwanted jobs or let the system automatically purge them.) The result is a dramatic reduction in printing waste, which is great news for the environment and your school’s bottom line. Pharos customers have experienced reductions in waste as high as 80% and reductions in overall print volume as high as 50%.
- Security – Devices are locked down until users authenticate themselves with an ID card or enter their logon credentials.
- Confidentiality – Jobs are held in a Uniprint queue until the person who submitted them walks up to the device and releases them for printing. This ensures that confidential documents go directly from the printer into the hands of their owners. It also means that no one has to rifle through stacks of paper looking for their printouts.
