Delivering, a secure, reliable and high performance “ASP” service for schools and colleges.
There is a proven link between the use f IT and pupils' achievements.
- But all too frequently, schools and colleges struggle to maintain and update their IT infrastructure.
- To address this problem, Admedia decided t launch a new outsourced IT service that would reduce IT complexity, for schools, while improving the reliability of their systems.
- To provide the platform for its new Learning Point service and took advantage of "Software as a Subscription" (SaaS). And "Infrastructure as Service" (IaaS) license agreement to minimize upfront costs.
- As a result, the company now offers a secure, reliable and affordableIT service that helps schools
extend the use f IT in curriculum.
Solutions, the right price.
For many years, the government has been promoting the use of IT in schools, and there is strong evidence t suggest that computers can help improve student achievement. All schools now have at least some computers in classrooms, libraries r dedicated IT suites.
Challenges:
- Many schools IT systems are simply not reliable enough and they lacked the resources to manage them
- Schools often find it hard t maintain PCs. “Children come home and say the computers at school are rubbish". But schools often find it hard to maintain and manage IT, so performance deteriorates and PCs soon become out-f-date.
- "It is not uncommon for a teacher to find that five or six f the thirty PCs in an IT suite don't boot up or don't run correctly.
- Teacher's then waste time reallocating students to their PCs
and trying t fix the problems. Poor IT has a detrimental impact n Learning
- Admedia Felt that that there must be an alternative way to help schools and colleges make effective use of computers.

Cloud Computing - the New Learning Environment
We are Glad to introduce a new technology, "Cloud Computing", for students in both urban and rural schools. Cloud Computing allows students to access their resources, such as word processing and collaboration tools, as well as their documents over the Internet.
Extending Education Beyond the Classroom
the "Cloud Computing" technology is an entirely web-enabled computing system. Although the computing environment resides within the Admedia Datacenter boundary, the web-based cloud technology delivers technology services beyond the classroom computers and directly to the students, no matter where they are. This opens the possibilities of "extending education beyond the classroom".
Important Notice - Internet Content Filter
It is important to note that while students are physically on school ground, an internet content filter is in place, providing barriers to inappropriate sites. This filter does not function when the student is outside school property, so close parental monitoring is strongly advised
One-to-One Access
The Africa Cloud Computing delivers an alternative solution to 1-to-1 Computing. Rather than focusing on the computer hardware, the "One-to-One Access" concept provide students (in grade 3 - 8) the ability to access their educational applications and documents from anywhere, using any computing device.
Single Sign-On Feature
Cloud Computing simplify technology access with the "Single Sign On" feature. Student will only have to remember their school network log-on credential (Username and Password). Once they are logged in to their "Cloud Desktop", their credential will be passed on to other applications that require logging in. There is no more need to remember multiple username and passwords.
